SpotBench is a referral platform that connects independent tradespeople — electricians, plumbers, HVAC techs, general contractors, and more — with the property managers, remodelers, and contractors who need them. We operate exclusively in California.
We are not a staffing agency, a general contractor, or an employer. We don't set rates, assign jobs, or take commissions. SpotBench simply makes it easier for skilled professionals to be found, and for hirers to find the right person fast.
Finding reliable trade professionals in California is time-consuming. Job boards are noisy, referral networks are opaque, and vetting credentials takes hours. Meanwhile, skilled independents struggle to stand out from unlicensed competition.
SpotBench fixes both sides: licensed trades get a verified profile with automatic CSLB badge; hirers get filtered, ranked results with transparent rates and direct contact — no middleman, no bidding wars.
SpotBench operates as a referral agency under California Labor Code §2777 (AB5 Referral Agency exemption) and Construction Subcontractor exemption §2781. All providers complete an Independent Contractor Attestation before appearing in search.
